Which freq to hold short on?

    Personally, without being told otherwise I make the switch as I approach the hold line of my assigned takeoff runway. If they expect otherwise, they ought to be stating as such.

    PHX is a good example because I seem to have been flying in there alot lately: Coming down H out of the GA area for a 25L takeoff, there’s been a few times when I’ve been rolling down H and the ground controller comes up with “[my callsign] Monitor Tower 120.9” If they don’t, I make the switch at the hold line. Never had a problem with that.

    Turbine-powered airplanes are presumed ready when they reach the assigned departure runway; makes sense.

    Don’t get me started re: post deice runups.

    And don’t transmit that you’re “in sequence” because #1 it’s a stupid phrase and #2 the Tower was built with windows.

    If that's true then why does the tower ask "Who's #2 for 31R?"
