Report: Terror Suspect Landing At Cincinnati Airport
6 minutes ago
(WLWT ChannelCincinnati.com)

There are reports that fighter jets are escorting a jet into the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport.

The plane is Delta flight 043. It left Paris at 11:20 a.m. and is scheduled to land at 2:30 p.m.

The flight is said to be of interest because of a potential terrorism suspect on board, according to WLWT. According to reports, a woman was removed from the flight before it took off from Paris because she had an electronic device that was causing some suspicion.

The plane will be held in an area away from the terminal when it lands. Passengers will be re-screened as a precaution when the plane lands in Cincinnati, WLWT reported.

NBC news is reporting that officials want to speak with 14 people on board.

Additional details are forthcoming.

CNN is now reporting that the woman with the electronic device was not a threat. Looks like a false alarm.

Doug were you at KATL on New Year's Eve around 7 PM?

Is this the same person who was on the "Airline" show last night who got on without the ID?

She probably pulled out a PDA out of her purse for a game of frogger...

Military planes escort jetliner to Ohio

CINCINNATI (USATODAY.com) - Military jets shadowed a passenger jet said
initially to have a possible terror suspect aboard, although U. S. officials
told NBC News they no longer believe there was a threat.

Still, the fighter jets reportedly escorted Delta Flight 43 into the
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. Passengers are to be re-screened and all
baggage will be checked, a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman
told MSNBC.

The TSA's Jennifer Marty said the nation's code orange terror alert led to the
action.

Passengers' identification will be scrutinized and they will be checked with
hand wands, Marty said.

According to reports, a woman was removed from the flight before it took off
from Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport because she had an
electronic device that was causing some suspicion. NBC's Pete Williams reported
that the woman wore a leather motorcycle jacket with wiring that could be
plugged in to provide heat.

The plane left Paris at 11:20 a.m.

Doug was in Vegas New Year's Eve and he's not spilling his wild party story?

I was there, on the strip between Bellagio and Aladdin. Man, it was great.

Nah, I just walked down Convention Center Blvd towards the strip, walked into the Frontier (or whatever the casino was), I walked towards the craps table, the captain walks towards the "Let It Ride" table and at 0130, I had a frown on my face and he's woo-hoo'ing like Homer Simpson offering to spring for Quizno's on the way back to Dallas that afternoon!

Re: More...

This is ridiculous. They already screened everyone and checked their IDs in France. And after the plane lands and after any terrorist would have done his nasty deed, they want to do it again?

Do the folks at the TSA and Homeland [In]Security realize exactly how assinine this makes them look?
