I checked the forum yesterday and again today thinking I’d see something about this.

I understand blades are cracking, there have been several engine replacements in Singapore but RR is now out of spare engines.

After one international carrier shut down an engine a couple thousand miles from a airport that same carrier has grounded some 787’s and the list is growing.

Seems like this would be in the news.

    So.. uh order the GEs.
I'm trying to think of any reason an airline would ever put a rolls on their airplane unless you are BA.

Or it was a joint venture with BMW.

At that point they're doing it wrong twice.

No, but I'm familiar enough with BMW products and British cars to know that a combination of the two is probably the worst thing ever.

Wow, I thought we were talking about minor cracking.

Ooooh ... why'd you do that. Now I'm waxing sentimental looking up XJ220's, Diablo's, 993 GT2's, F40's ... god the late 80's/90's produced some beautiful supercars.

Nah, that's the other way around. A British car with a German engine can be just fine.

A German thing with a British drive train? Pack your walking shoes.

The fine people at Cosworth might take issue with that ...

There's always the exception that proves the rule...

    :D

There's a reason that the best Lotus ever came with Toyota parts.

"Best ever" is debatable (I think Emerson Fittipaldi, Graham Hill and Mario Andretti would call that into question), but I've always wanted an Elise.

Best "available to more than the F1 team" Lotus, anyway. I was keeping an eye on the Elise market. They were down to about 25k for a brief period, then started back up again. Drat.
