When I interviewed they thanked me for coming dressed appropriately...
Yeah he had a short sleeve polo type shirt on with slacks. I thought maybe he had a tee time right afterwards and didn't have time to change or something
This is true.
Small wonder then.
I'll be off somewhere crying.
"Hey man, I see myself as an asset for your establishment."
I did it 2 weeks ago out of SFO. Used the flow board to find a 200 that was going somewhere and back (I picked SBA turn) and then told the gate agent I'd like to jumpseat and sit in the flight deck to observe. Got out in SBA and told them the same. Just took bart to the airport and had my headset. It's easy! Have fun!
There aren't spare observer headsets in your RJs?
There are, they're kinda junky though
SBA is a good choice too, weird visual.
Sure... but for two legs of observation flying... I dunno. Seems kind of silly to bring your own headset.
I didn't know there were headsets in there. My classmates just told me they only brought their headsets so I decided to sheep it and follow what they did.
I suppose it would be a personal preference.
Wish I'd seen this! Are you on the E-jet or the CRJ? You just need a crew badge to get down to the crew room, though you need to be in uniform.
They're only headphones. I'd bring a headset. There's really zero reason not to bring your own headset.
Thank you for responding to my question.
Yes, I wore a suit, maybe my suit choice could have been better, but I wore one.
I'm on the e-jet. Thanks for letting me know about the crew room. I'm actually in uniform because it says to be in uniform on the form for the observation flights. I may just head down there and check it out.
Yeah, no SIDA badge required to go to the crew lounge in SFO but you need crew badge and uniform. Definitely check it out. There are usually people down there that you can talk to.
It wasn't plaid or powder blue was it?
I'm SFO based on the E-175. If there's anything I can do to help, or any information you need, please don't hesitate to ask.
No, it was Navy blue. I had it custom made when I was stationed in Japan some years back, it still fit so I wore it
