Since I’m qual’d in both seats, they asked if I could pick up an open trip/fill in...in the right seat.
Thank FSM we got that kind of crap knocked out of the contract over here. Only time they can put a check pilot in the right seat is if they are utilizing their letter. Or, if the FO that should have been there is at home getting paid.

I've never been the type to vow to leave the country over an election, but I think that might be enough to get me to go spend four years on my sailboat in the Caribbean. :)
Haha. Those who said they would leave never left anyhow. A fools promise regardless of what political side you’re on!

I just don't understand this mentality. There is a real gem of a thread going on at APC right now. Every time that I visit that cesspool, I regret it greatly.
The "working at a regional is better than working at Jetblue" is probably something the regional lifers tell themselves so they don't end up like Michael Douglas in "Falling Down 2: The Airline Pilot"

"Coulda gone to Jetblue, man. They wanted me. But this, is too much fun…." #Selfie

Eh, I don't judge. I'd have stayed at Pinnacle rather than go to Southwest. Some people just have certain places that interest them, and certain places that don't. Now, if they make that decision without recognizing the risk that they're taking on by staying somewhere where the name on the plane doesn't match the name on the paycheck, well, that's a different story.

Most of those who I see truly planning on making a career at a regional only have 10-15 years left and have plenty of income outside of flying to retire comfortably if the doors shut tomorrow. Or so they say...

So what's the status of this AIP? Approved yet? Sent to membership for vote?
4 weeks since the AIP now. Company is still playing games.

“The Negotiating Committee met with the company this week in New York to finalize a Tentative Agreement to bring to the MEC. Unfortunately, we still have unresolved contractual language in Insurance, including technical and legal issues. Company finally submitted an implementation proposal, which was completely unacceptable”

I believe the original timeline said something like it should take 3-4 weeks to get the language to have the TA finalized and then sent to the MEC. It's been about a month now so we're on borrowed time....The next update should be telling.

There are some guys who believe working at a regional is better than working at JetBlue.
I had one of your fellow LGB pilots in my jump a few months ago. Was kind of excited, but didn't wanna to force him to talk about work while trying to get to work. So I just simply asked

"Hey, how do you like JB? I really want to work for you guys"

His reply "It's terrible, the worst airline you could work for. Honestly, I'd just stay here at your regional. You have a much better QOL than we do"

I was pretty shocked, I've never heard that from one of your pilots. Didn't really talk to him much after that. Lol

Yeah, those guys are out of their minds, but you knew that.
