Meh they've called for the worst hurricane season in history every year since Katrina and it's never materialized. If their hurricane forecasts are as accurate as their 12 hour forecasts for my local weather, you'd be better off throwing a dart.

I'd like to see some statistics comparing actual versus predicted hurricanes over the past 10 years.

Either way, if we learned anything about hurricanes in the past few decades is that it only takes one hurricane, a worst case scenario and favorable conditions to make it a killer.

I'm not saying don't be prepared for hurricane season, but if forecasts are consistently wrong (and by huge margins) then the forecasts becomes worth less than the paper it's printed on.

Hell, right now the weather forecast for my town shows no rain until Friday and Saturday. It's raining right now.

Yeah screw forecasting! Might as well shut down the GFS, UKMET, EURO, NAV GEM, CMC etc. Waste. Of. Time.

The hurricanes will hit where they hit, it's not worth the trouble of forecasting.

Also, Screw You NOAA, NHC and Dr. Jeff Masters!!!!

There seems to be a consensus about the uncertainty of weather forecasting.

I'm in South Florida and bottled water has become scarce and lines at the gas station are starting to for up.

I live in Coral Springs! I had a decent reserve of water. I typically have at least a case of water to last me a week anyways. I went to the local 7/11 and picked up an additional 13 one liter bottles of their basic drinking water for 20 bucks. They don't even have gallon jugs on zephyr in Stock. I did see an entire pallet of water being off loaded at the Bravo super market on Royal Palm and Coral Springs drive as I drove by...

I still have to stock up on groceries if I decide to ride it out.
