Good riddance! We used to layover in that dump. It was the bedbugs that finally got us out of there.

Yeah Tracy, the place was a dump. Good riddance. Hopefully The Sahara is next.

Um, the Sahara doesn't exist anymore. It's actually a very nice new hotel/casino called the SLS. Completely remodeled.

That place smelled like smoke, mold and mildew.

We went from the Greek Isles to the Sahara. Wasn't much of an upgrade. At least our current hotel is a step up from those rat holes

Aren't you guys staying at the hotel next to Bally's now? Didn't seem that bad.

Across the street. Yeah. It's definitely an upgrade.

It's ironic.. I was so thrilled to be flying the 757/767 and laying over in LAS that I was perfectly happy in the Greek Isles, haha.

With that said, I'll never forget walking around in my socks in the hotel room and noticing the soles turning dark from all the crap in the carpet. I believe that should have been a warning light.

Do you Soviet Sub Commanders have contract language that you can seek 'self help' if the hotel room isn't up to snuff?

Yeah, it's called, "File a hotel complaint with the company and CC the hotel committee."

Surprised y'all don't have stronger hotel language. We can take 'self help' if we follow a few procedures and walk to another hotel of our choosing and expense it if the place is a crap hole. Thankfully, the company knows this and 99% of the time we stay where our hotel committee wants us.

The Greek Isles was fine. Decent room and you're never there anyway. Hell, it was fun buying a case of beer and heckling "Showgirls" in the crew room while playing pool and darts with the Virgin Atlantic crews. Good times.

Vegas is a tough market because they generally expect a particular amount of "buy in" for casino sells and pilots are cheap as hell. We have a much nicer hotel but you'd be suprised how many people "rave" about heading over to the Mardi Gras for $6 steak and eat at the gas station for lunch next to the Westin.

The "new one" we're at is great, but I'm sure someone's going to ruin that eventually.

That was years ago, even before the Greek Isles.
