A lot of pilots vote for anti-union politicians. They do so often because they have another thing that is swaying their vote that is more politicized and visible, like guns. There is not one politician out there who perfectly aligns with me, or anybody. So you have to find one who matches you the best, unfortunately with only 2 parties we're very limited with our choices.
You catch that guy going full nut job on our union site today. Hole-e-crap

It's neither, and no one makes that claim that I'm aware of. It's a political right, which is enumerated precisely because it is not presumptive. It's also definable. "Healthcare" is absurdly nebulous. Again, how much? From whom? You do not have a right to my labor, whether I'm a pilot, a ditch-digger, or a physician.
It's a question other countries have already answered, and yet somehow we're just too stupid I guess.

It's simply a fact that 20% unemployment has been predicted by the Secretary of the Treasury as a result of this crisis, and that airlines have already seen a steeper decline in bookings than what was observed after 9/11. I doubt many airline tickets will be sold in an economy with 20% unemployment, and even in a best case scenario where we get Covid-19 under control soon the memory of it will stick for a long time. For many years to come people will be uncomfortable about being in an airliner cabin with scores of strangers.
Let's clarify something: Steve Mnuchin stated last week that 20% unemployment was possible if congress failed to act on a proposed coronavirus rescue package. Mnuchin did not state that 20% unemployment is an inevitability.

Todd is a republican? I always had him down as a dem (due to his strong union ties), independent, or libertarian at worst.
Anyone who is angry that unionized aviation workers got some protection for bankruptcy filings (thanks Dems!) is certainly not a Democrat or unionist.

Logic doesn’t work with him. As soon as the 20% unemployment doesn’t pan out he will go back to robots are taking his job next.

Perhaps not, but they are taxpayers. It's their tax dollars that are providing the bankruptcy protection. So what do they get in return?

You know gents, it is possible to have ideals that don't fit entirely one of two political parties.

It's a common theme around here: you are either A or B.
And if you’re a certain one of those you’re automatically assumed to be an ill informed leper whose ideas aren’t worthy of consideration.

Shrinking leg room and ever increasing nickel and dime policies. The taxpayers got pretty screwed I have to say (as always).
Do you expect them to retrofit the cabins with the “bailout” money and furlough half the employee group in the meantime?

No, I’m actually extremely far left. But the people even further to the left than me, people who are basically hard core socialists, just love to accuse everyone even slightly right of them as being Republicans. It’s their way of trying to peer pressure you into caving and joining their communist revolution. Doesn’t work on me. I‘m a proud liberal Democrat. I’m also a capitalist. These things have not been mutually exclusive for our entire history as a party, and I’ll be damned if I let the radicals change that. I’m the Democrat. They’re not.

A gross misrepresentation of my position. Not surprising coming from you, sadly.

Ok. That’s what I thought. And I agree with you about the extremists on both sides. They are destroying this country. Or at least trying to.
