AS application question-employment history

Sounds like it’s the same window as the July window so if you applied in July you can’t apply or update this time. Oh well.
Yup, they did clarify that back in July on their Facebook page that you could only apply to 1 of the 3 windows so if you needed to wait for more competitive times then do so. I thought it was unusual but just listened to their advice.

Curious, where have you heard 300 new hires, reason I ask recently in ground school they mentioned 2 airbus being returned and I haven’t heard much growth talked about. Hope you are right though

For some reason I thought it was August and October.

That's because there's zero growth. Oh except for horizon and that E195-E2 visiting today

I agree, I was surprised this 300 number is being floated around unless that’s a total number for Alaska Air Group meaning horizon for next year.
I’m not sure why we are even hiring now, given now growth, potentially down an airframe or two and 20 or so retirements next year.
Only reason I can think of for the current hiring is to cover people in training moving between aircraft.

No one of consequence
It would shock you how true this is. They usually live in Gig Harbor and still have the pension
Do you fly with a lot of people who live in the Gig? I know my base is concerned about 175s. Rightly so since there are no 700 replacements on order.

No I'm LAX thankfully, but after talking to alaska guys at Flight Path, I was very underwhelmed by their sense of perspective.

Here are the combined retirement numbers for perspective:

2019: 20
2020: 35
2021: 47
2022: 60
2023: 57
2024: 62
2025: 87
2026: 75
2027: 98
2028: 77
2029: 105
2030: 87
2031: 100

Only 21% of the pilot group is retiring in the next 10 years.

Don't worry, it'll be worse when you merge with JetBlue.

I’m here at the Emerald City and can confirm the underwhelming sense of Gig Harbor. It’s super real. And super weird.
