414 Crash

Don’t the 414/421 have a history of an exhaust clamp failing, tail pipe falling off and super hot turbine air subsequently igniting the fuel and the wing spar fairly promptly being blow torched in half?

Edit: the first turbo-normalized bonanzas had a similar thing. I remember a suggested preflight check being to grab the tail pipe and feel for excess wiggle. If found, check for a tailpipe crack or your feet might get real hot inflight.

Sounds like the props overspeeding, then alot of aerodynamic noise, then the sound of a breakup, followed very shortly by debris in the house.

Pure speculation but this this could suggest it was a loss of control into a dive with a panic pull at the end. Very strange.

Would props over speed after a wing detachment?

I think you're pretty close.

If you watch the video at this link, it looks like he's in one piece coming out of the clouds in a steep dive and then it comes apart from overspeeding and you see the flames. They also show the fuselage which looks relatively intact with no fire damage which would also suggest the wings had separated from the aircraft prior to impact. It appears the fuselage landed in someone's yard and the wings probably went through the roof of the house.

F***! That's a horrible sound and peace to them and their last emotional moments.

Re-watching it, as fast as it was, either it came apart from pure overspeed stress, or it was going so fast that if he did pull, it didn’t take much AoA change to do it. That Dash cam video makes it look like a pure overspeed breakup.
