If I remember right they tried to land on the golf course, but over shot it, then aimed for the road, but seen a car last minute and banked away. The CFI was killed, and the student I think lived. Sad stuff.

This was a several years ago. The story I hear was that the wing got hung up on the power lines and that led them into the pole.

Thought they tried for the road but that SUV was in the way and instead of possibly killing the SUV people they went to the side?
