Default Did Go pilots fall asleep?

I think those pilots are probably in a little bit of trouble.

Aaaa yeeeea these guys might not have a job here pretty soon. I mean come on, how do you explain that one you know? Plus it's not like it was only one pilot, but TWO! WOW!!! And of course of all airlines Mesa!Someone ask me why I'm not surprised...

Short staffed and over worked. If I had a dog crap schedule like the Mesa guys, I'd fall asleep too.

I doubt it. To send a transmission on the radio, you have to press a button. So I don't think the pilot had his hand on the yoke; he was most likely laid back in his seat and out like a light.

The CVR records all sounds in the cockpit, not just radio transmissions.

That's very true! Although this is the ATC recording... CVR recordings (at least on US airliners) are not given to the press that easily since the infamous crash of a Delta 727 in Dallas in 1988:

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I said that. (Sigh...)

The CVR has a microphone located usually on the overhead panel that records the sounds in the cockpit.
