Nice video. The thing I can't stand about Olympic is that the FA's smoke in the galley on non-smoking flights. Iberia is famous for that too. |

It's Greece...of course no action is taken haha. Pilots regularly smoke in the cockpit, and stick the cigarette next to the window where their crappy seals (due to slipshod maintenance) suck the smoke out. Well, at least that is what I observed when I was allowed to jumpseat on ATH-AMS last year...CASS what?? |

| Why pass? Olympic has one of the best safety records in the world. The pilots are well-trained with a majority of them coming straight from the Greek Air Force. There maintenance department is recognized all over the world, it also has been awarded several times. What does smoking have to do with anything?

| Ok no problem, it's just that the airline has been so much since Onassis died and the only thing that is left is its great safety, pilots and maintenance, the service and all the other stuff is just garbage at times. I am a non-smoker and I hate flying with guys who smoke, what can you do. Their slowly getting strict with it, thank god.

I've flown Olympic Airways 4-5 times around the Greek Islands and didn't see any smoking crews. I remember encountering some choppy air though, and the pilots doing a great job of taking off and landing in a bodacious cross wind.

Greeks are everywhere. The crosswinds are fun when flying to the greek islands, but could get bad. | |

I used a greek translator to get the greek font....my laptop can write in it though...perhaps we should have an Athens meet and greet (I will be there this summer visiting family). I heard about the Greek AOPA fighting for some GA airports; it seems that a lot of the small fields are being closed down. Last summer I was there, I looked into flying a 152 around outside of Athens but it was something like 200 euros an hour-ish. In regards to OA pilots, ya they are fantastic. Some of my best memories are in ATR72s and the old Dornier 228s landing into Santorini, Mykonos and Cephalonia with crazy crosswinds and runways on cliffs on the water. Ach...Ego s'agapou tin Ellada! So do you guys fly for OA? and yes Icarus, I should have known better...Greeks ARE everywhere! |

I use greek fonts by just adding it to my language bar in windows and just switch from EN to EL when wanting to write in Greek. Give it a try ...

Anyways back to the video. It looked pretty good. I rarely hear about european airlines. Maybe they do have a great safety record and administration there.

About 1:40 into the video, it gives me flashbacks.
