Default some practice landings from the right seat

working on my CFI, so I rented the arrow today to get some practice in.

the last landing, you'll be happy do know, didn't set off the ELT

Might not have set off the ELT but I was in the library and felt the building shake

I think you're being too critical of yourself. That last one qualifies as firm.....in my book anyway.

I like the commentary overheard just after that last landing... Funny stuff.

Not so sure about that last landing being a "short" field landing..... Why so high on all of those approaches? I'm just use to crossing the runway and being ready to flare?

My aiming point was the 1000 foot markers.

(we're _simulating_, so why dive for the dirt, when we can aim for the 1000' marks, and stay safe?)

I always aim for the 1000ft markers. . . short, soft, normal. No reason to come in and aim for the number(s) or threshold - just seems foolish.

Then again - it'd be a different situation if it was a 2000ft RWY. But I digress.
