Default So here's the plan, thus far...

I've researched extensively on these boards, I've read posts that were started years ago as well as other boards to get the info that would hopefully start my career in the airline business.

Education
----------

I really don't think that the program at White Air can be beat.

The highlights that I love most:

1.) Great price
2.) 100+ hrs of multi
3.) Master CFI
4.) Housing at the airport
5.) No safety time/simulator time
6.) Van answering questions like a pro

I've tried to find a better program for me, but with advice from everyone on these boards, it all seems to point at White Air, even if they aren't saying it directly.

Financing
----------

I have a little over a year of college complete(I'm 24 btw) and want to have it finished online, so I guess I'll be doing it with UVSC.

This route I can finish my degree as well as finance my flight training with White Air.

Last Questions
---------------


1.) IF I wanted to start in February are openings available?

2.) For students that are determined such as myself and with current conditions at White Air with staffing and student, how often can I fly?

------

It's crazy that these forums aren't crazy busy. This school seems too good to be true. They have an FBO feel with a great training regiment for career students.

Why haven't more students completed the full program at White Air like you Van? I am yet to find something negative about White Air.

Thanks for the kind words.

While we are not perfect in any way. I do feel that we provide quality training for a reasonable price. The environment is different than most places you will go to. Our planes are old but they do the job. I enjoyed my time there and would not have changed anything.

My first question is have you finalized everything with UVSC?

February is a possibility it kind of depends on a couple other peoples plans to finalize. January is really busy and there are people talking about starting in March but they have not finalized yet. We are limited on the amount of students we can take on based on plane and instructor availability.

Its usually not a problem to fly 2-4 hours a day, but keep in mind that its real easy for your knowledge to fall behind your flight skills so flying a ton is not always in your best interest. There needs to be a good balance of Ground, Flight and self study to be successful. We will closely tailor the schedule to meet our students needs.

Assuming a career program student did a good job in the program and would be a looked at as a good cfi what percentage stay to instruct at white air and how many have to go job hunting? How much m/e and s/e time do the instructors get per month? How many instructors do they have?

3 full time and 2 part time right now. The amount of hours will depend on how busy it is. Most people have moved on to other places near their homes. I stayed and instructed for a couple months and got some good hours in. I am back now and its a good 40%ME time. Initially you will be SE only just until you meet the insurance requirements.

How often does white air turn down career program graduates interested in instructing because of a lack of instructor positions available?

We have not turned anybody down yet. Like I said, most people have went back to where they are from and found instructor jobs. Others have went on to work at Piedmont, Scenic and Air Cargo Carriers.

Checkride fees are not included. Those get paid directly to the examiner. You can work during the 6 months I guess, but you are going to need your time for study and preparation. Our housing is for students and any arrangement to stay longer would have to be sorted out with the owner. We need all the rooms for students most times. It is quite cheap to rent in town though.
