Default \"Who let the girls out\"

I need to start up some conversation with the ladies and/or girlfriends and/or sig others/husbands of the pilots that are coming to NJC as far as what ya'll would like to do for "PF's Night on the Town".. granted, it's only a few hours.. but it'll give the spouses a chance to get away from their pilots and talk amongst each other about..stuff..like..non-pilot stuff!

so get your sig others on here and let them type using your name, if need be, or have them register OR have them come over to pilotfamilies.com to continue the conversation of "what to do" with all the ladies over there. both sites are free to register.

--
During Network JC, which is mostly used as networking more for the pilots than the spouses/girlfriends/sig others, I like to get the spouses away from the hubbies (or vice versa) so they can take a few minutes to get to know the other spouses away from well, their spouses... kind of a meet & greet of our own.

Last year, we met for about an hour or two at Zuri, which was one of the lounges located in the MGM before meeting all the men at 9FI (Nine Fine Irishmen) over at NYNY for a little introduction gathering.

This year, I'd like to open up the topic some to see what you'd like to do as far as this year's meet & greet go. We have 11 spouses & girlfriends signed up for the event, so far, this year.

The "introduction" meet will be held at 9FI again this year.. the crew had such a blast last year, that it became unaminous to do it again this year. I'm thinking that it'll be starting around 9pm, so we can aquire some good tables, if not the upstairs area as we did last year.

So I'd like to propose meeting at 7pm - which would give us about 2 hours to mingle, get aquainted, have a few drinks and just shoot the breeze minus the spouses (hehe).

A few places I looked up, that are close to 9FI in NYNY (so we don't have to worry about tooo much walking):

Zuri - in the MGM, it was nice, elegant, comfortable if you can find seats (at 7/8pm, it wasn't a problem!)...more of a novelty vodka/martini lounge...drinks were a bit pricey, but what do you expect, it's VEGAS!

Big Apple Bar - located in NYNY on the same floor as 9FI... easy location for all the men to meet us at or for us to easily venture over to 9FI when time comes or when we feel like it. looks like a fairly good sized bar, I think i've been there before where the hubby had one too many tequila shots provided by my brother in law . I'm not sure if they have entertainment or not but looking at the floor plan, it seems like it'd be large enough for a lounge act or two.

Minstrel's Lounge - located in Excalibur.. I don't know much about it, but i hear they do have a band that plays in the evenings
Houdini's Lounge - located in Monte Carlo, which is to the north of NYNY.. a bit of a walk, but also hear they have a lounge act/band.

the other idea i had was if we did want to do some walking, would we want to have our own little "casino/bar crawl"? bunch of ladies out on the town, himhawing at the guys walking by... you know - girl type fun! hehe

I took a look at shows like thunder down under and for most of the student pilot and/or regional wives, it would probably be too pricey at $44 a pop. so I decided to forgo that idea, plus, it wouldn't give us all that much opportunity to talk.

so - any ideas?

So I take it that this is also the appointed time for the "gentlemen" to hit the "gentlemen's clubs"???

yes! I do at least! I had a great time at the girls night out last year. I'm up for whatever which is why I didn't reply...

if no one has a preference, I'd say, lets go to the same place as last year - i thought it was really cool (despite the prices)

Tell her that we're well behaved and have all of our shots!

Well, err, at least most of our shots...

Ya I think I'm going to make her hang with you guys. Please tell her that pilots aren't wierd we're different and flying is a disease that we can't cure.

Yeah, tell her to get up, come on, get down with the sickness.

(Thinking only Herreshoff will catch that lyric, but oh well.)

I call that the Beavis and Butthead song because for some reason the whole grunting thing he does reminds me of Beavis when he's Cornholio.
