Hi, another question... Any of you know of any UND student in the flying team? I'd be very interested in knowing how one gets chosen to participate in it. (Of course, I understand you must apply before being chosen) If it's something that had attracted me very much to UND even before I applied to it, was that—it's flying team. I can imagine the fun at the SAFECONs ![]() P.S.- I really hope you're not expected to have a "genious" GPA of like 3.6 and above..... ...Just look at the peeps...lol ![]() http://www.aero.und.edu/images/FlightTeam2004.jpg |

[ QUOTE ] I can imagine the fun at the SAFECONs [/ QUOTE ] I have heard you need to pretty dedicated to be on this team. Practice very early in the morning and some of the events you have to be pretty good at. To get chosen, you have to be good to their standards. Personally, a few of the people on the flying team I have met were a little on the socially inept side, but I can't say that for all of them. |

If you want to live and breath aviation and aviation only 24-7 then flying team is for you. Those kids know their shat and are very dedicated, not my cup of tea though. |

Well Matt, I was being polite ![]() As he said, just not a lot of people like to do it. It is a lot of work and these people live and breathe aviation. I like having a social life thank you very much, and some of thest guys should try it. A little bit of useless knowledge, there was a national news crew here from MSP asking students how they felt about UND ranking #2 in U.S. for binge drinking. I say rock on! I am not sure how they (whoever studies this crap) derive this info, but I think it is a waste of money, but kind of interesting too. I didn't know we were such party animals here. |

Completely off-topic.... ...but I found it quite weird, yet nice, that I received some extra-laaaaarge UND T-shirt in the mail today... ![]() I guess they assume everyone's overweight? LOL. Just kidding. Couldn't allow that one slip by...lol Pretty cool. UND's looking cool thus far. (And no I'm not saying this 'cause of the shirt, guys) |

[/ QUOTE ] there are a lot of tubby kids in the program. They all like to wear those button up shirts that has blue or yellow flames on the bottom half along with a ball cap. There are lots of counter-weights available... |

Hey fox where you from in ATL? Used to live there and still have a lotta family in Roswell and Mountain Park. I'm hoping to move back down that way after I get out of this excuse for a state. |

I grew up in Decatur but in my freshman year, my parents moved up to Canton/Alpharetta. I miss Decatur.

gotta a buddy on the flying team, practice is 6:30 a.m. on sundays and can last until 4 in the afternoon, cheaper plane rates, but figure waking up at 6:30 is a pricey oppurtunity cost when it's negative 20, ya gotta be a flying nerd, |
