Default Cell Phone Use Email

Did anyone else get the Cell Phone Use Email this morning?
I got a nice laugh out of that.

"We have had several recent reports of individuals using cell phones while on the ramp. In one instance where the person was questioned about its use the individual reportedly replied that it was 'mission essential', what ever that means. "

lol, wow.

At least he wears his hat, gloves and boots per UND Polices and Procedures! Since the polices don't require "pants" he doesn't wear them.

He has pants that they make him change into before he flies. If you remember, last year they changed it to add "appropiate winter clothing." Plus, after a meeting with Dana Siewart, he can't get away with it anymore.

Interesting. Chalk those pants up on the "mission essential" items list.

The guy that wears the shorts year round is apparently from texas, and he was in one of my classes and when ever he raised his hand to speak he would stand up turn around and address the class. He sounds very smart when he does so, just wondering if maybe I should start doing the same

I would use my cell phone on the ramp all the time. If I had to call my instructor to tell him something related to the flight without walking 400 feet back to get him in -10 degrees, I would do it.

sitting inside an aircraft with the engines off and chocked, i see no problem at all.

walking about on the ramp.... could be prop fodder.

i actually called tim klawon (my stage check pilot) from inside a warrior on the ramp on my first or second stage check in 102.... i think he was stunned that i made such a move... of course, i had never heard of not being able to use cellphones on the ramp, and i was sitting inside a plane waiting on him! come on! hahah
