Default Aviation Laptop Program

Man, I hate it. What a waste of money, like I already have not spent enough? I invite everyone to check out http://nodak.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8979223588

You aren't gonna get rid of it, so you might as well not complain about it.

It should be optional, if someone wants it then they should be able to, but I really don't see the point. It's so much better to buy your own.

Has anyone seen the petition going around about making the program optional yet? It seemed like no one was signing it though.

I signed it. I like the laptops, but they are really not worth the cost; especially considering that we don't get to keep them when we're done. I don't know how kids cannot come to realize that, but eh. Whatever.

Not trying to be mean or anything but you should be more proactive especially when you have to pay for that stuff.

THIS.

just saying "dont complain, go along with the status quo" never made anything happen in the world.

*Clap Clap Clap* Thanks for inspirational comment, haha.

First off you don't know the background of this situation at all.
Second off you come off as an #sshole, not gonna lie.

Do you even go to UND?

Isn't Skrammy the only faculty member still pushing the laptop program hard? I've never heard him personally talk about it, but just about all my other professors that have spoken about it say that it should be optional and Skramstad is one of the few still pushing it.

Me personally, I think it's kind of a waste of money. I don't play computer games near as much as I used to, so I don't need that capability right now, so this laptop does just fine for me. One thing I do like is the tech support. Being able to get a new computer on short notice is kinda nice when yours takes a crap, other than that, I'd much rather buy my own.

Yup, Skrammy is the one pushing for it, but Skrammy is also retiring...interesting...

Well if you attack all your discrepencies in life like that then you don't get very far. People will begin to understand that you have that 'take it' attitude and will take advantage of it.

No I don't teach at UND but I usually get many of the students that don't like it there.
