I miss being able to throw a pot of coffee into the air and watch it disappear in thin crisp -44 degree F air.

It was so much fun standing in line for the hockey games this weekend, too bad we didn't sweep the goofers.

Just think Angel, depending on what choice you make for after you graduate you may never have to preflight a warrior in crap like that again.

I did. Every student I worked with should be able to attest to that. It was done just that much quicker when it was colder with two of us working on it.

i was kidding, but it is amazing how much faster pre-flight goes the colder it gets outside. i bet my students now can have a SEMI preflighted in under 7 minutes now inside and out!

i even help my stage check applicants put engine covers back on when we are done

I always pre/post flighted with my student. The first few lessons I would have them do it and shadow them. Then once it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing I would help them by splitting the inside/outside. Then to keep them sharp I'd ask them random questions during the preflight. No matter what, I always did a 360 degree walk around at the end to check/double check the important stuff (not tied down, fuel caps on, oil qty, fuel qty, etc). Learned that one after I did a 150 mile x/c with the fuel cap IN the airplane instead of on it. Thankfully it was in a DA20 and not much (if any) got sucked out.

Like I said....come visit before you make a choice. You have a place to stay if needed.

Where are you? ...like 6 hours away?

Dunno if that's an engine limitation, but UND goes no-fly when the windchill drops below -40.
