The situation here really sucks. I am in CFI right now and it took 2 weeks to get an initial instructor, then he got hired two weeks later, then it took another week to get a new instructor, then I was paired up with another CFI, but they are 7 lessons ahead of me so we have to share our launch time equalling out to 1 or 2 lessons each week. They have to do something.

For all you current CFIs out there...fill out the survey they just emailed to us on Novell. It has to do with the current situation. There are a couple questions and it has a recommendation section on it.

out of curiosity, what opinions are they soliciting and questions are they asking? or is this super duper top secret UND employee only classified project strategy session? sometimes i really feel like, if you want to make things better for the CUSTOMERS (which the students are), sure we might not know everything, but maybe it would be good to solicit our feedback and find the keypoints sometimes.....

EDIT: I see what he is saying with respect an employer's point of view, but as far as UND is concerned we are the customers, and should definitely be treated like it.

uhm, someone is sorely mistaken if they do not view students as customers. what exactly are they going to "produce" if they do not satisfy the educational demands of the students????!?!

I was given a survey today in 414 ground school asking whether or not we would be interested in eventually taking MEI and why or why not.

Maybe UND doesn't realize that for both of my PIC types, I've had less than 30 hours of sim. This is for an airplane weighing over 20,000 lbs and they have more sim time for a seminole. Just plain stupid.

i wish there was more flight time though, teaching 3 325's gets a little boring with all the sims

Yeah… if you could get ‘em to spend some time on Flight Sim to improve their instrument flying I don’t think there would be a huge need for all the sim time. But, I don't think many would opt to do that...

| Junior Member | IT'S NOT COOL TO DO THAT! Just like it's not cool to participate in class anymore (anyone else notice this?) Seriously though, I've dissed on flightsim before, but boredom got the best of me up here lately, and I've started using it to just practice what I'm doing in my instrument lessons. It really helps a lot. I'd really rather have more self-study instead of ground classes featuring John Bridewell talking like this: "Ok PITCH....plus.... POWER....equals peformance. Remember that now. I'll say it again..." and on and on and on. However, such is the nature of choosing a 141 school. I'll deal.

| Old Skool | yeah im not sure whats up with this pansy-ass gen Y crap that is filling our classes. too meek and timid to participate in class.... jesus.... participating actually makes it interesting and engaging instead of mind numbingly boring

| Junior Member | EXACTLY dude. And our laptops make it a million times worse. I haven't seen many people that actually take their own notes on them. Actually, most of the more serious note-taking kids just use pen and paper, from what I've seen. The kids on the kids on the computers are just playing dumb internet video games. Do they seriously do this in their spare time? Really annoying. They might as well not even show up.
