| It's been so hot. It was 102 in San Diego, 111 in Ontario, CA and 98 degrees in Newport Beach on Monday. I got a bad sunburn because I laid out on the beach drinking margaritas for 5 hours. ![]()

| Junior Member | Ha don't tell the locals around here that that is hot. I went to Bismarck on Sunday and Sioux Falls last night. Each day it was like mid to high-80s, and not humid at all, and both times when I got out at the FBO, the guys "Whew oh yah, is it h0t enough fer yah?" |

| In Montana where I live, it had already frozen overnight in early August. Over here it feels like it is still middle of summer. For the next 10 days there, it is only supposed to get in the mid 60's.

| Senior Member | Does North Dakota always smell like this? The smell I am refering to is yucky. Oh, and it was actually quite warm today.

| No, not always. But when the wind's blowing just right it catches all the exhaust and stuff put off by Simplot on Gateway and blows it right over campus. Today around 6:00 pm caught me totally off guard. I'm not sure if I've ever smelled it that bad. Sometimes the smell from Lagoon and Simplot mix which is absolutely horrible.

| Old Skool | Speaking of Simplot, there is a Simplot auditorium here at the University of Idaho .

Don't know if you read the Dakota Student last week, but there as an article that explained just that Anytime the wind is out of the north, the campus will probably smell. There are several things to the north that make the town smell like flowers: junkyard, lagoons, Simplot, sugarbeet factory, etc. | |

| Junior Member | Well, good question I guess. I heard it was kinda lame before I read it anyways. The columnists are just... ugh. For example, that "letter to Michael Vick," from the "dogs' perspective." What was that? I seriously could tell that I was getting dumber as I was reading it. Same with the article about how you aren't "manly" for drinking "miller chill." There was also one story that I was trying to read, and when I looked on the page it was supposedly continued on, it wasn't even there. Nor was it in the rest of the paper. I'm not trying to sound too negative, though. I actually find this stuff kind of inspiring. EDIT: Oh, and the politcal commentary? Hmmmmm, I won't go there, heh. | I was always kind of glad about the poor caliber of the Dakota Stupid. What makes a good college newspaper to many is how many "i don't know why i am but i am" liberals they can get to write about how crappy the current administration is. Who needs another media outlet to help them figure that one out? On the other end you can get some crazy conservative who thinks the second amendment is the answer to life's problems. What the DS has going for it is complete apathy! It answers all of life's important questions! Where am i going to drink this weekend? Why does that B@#%h wear sweat pants everyday? What makes the DS worse is a certain columnist who feels the need to tell everyone else equally obvious things. People in GF drink because there is nothing else to do and the ever awesome i am a Jewish Pilot from Colorado...Did i mention I'm a pilot who doesn't like GF.... Well no $h#t we already know aviation majors hate GF why waste the ink. I mean c'mon i would rather learn about what type of STD's your likely to get from each sorority |
