Default Flight Training...

Hello!
I was wondering how the whole tuition and flight training costs worked. Are flight training costs seperate. Please elaborate. Thanks!

Yes tuition and flight fees are seperate.

Here's the projected costs for flight training: http://studentservices.aero.und.edu/...lightcosts.php

And here's what tuition is running these days: http://www.und.edu/dept/busoff/html/tuitionrates.htm

It's a course for ATC majors who don't want to take AVIT 102 (private pilot certification).

In Avit 101, Survey of Flight, students will accomplish a similar curriculum to the Avit 102 Private Pilot course; however, no certificate will be issued to students completing Avit 101. There's some more instrument training done towards the end of the Avit 101 course, and you'll still have to do stage checks (I believe there are three).

They are two stage checks and from what I have heard, if you can breathe you will have no problem passing them.

Please avoid survey of flight unless the extra money is a huge issue. I hate hearing ATC people say they have no interest in flying at all.

I don't get it why would you do Survey of Flight if it's almost the same as 102 yet you don't get a certificate out of it? Is it just cheaper and shorter?

Yes, if you already have your private before coming to UND you will still have a flight lab and groundschool to complete the requirement.

Students coming in already with their private will enroll in Avit 112 (a test course composing of 14 lessons including one final stage check). Students coming in with roughly 30 hours of flight time may enroll in Avit 105 (same course as the Avit 112 course with one final stage check, BUT these students will have to take an FAA checkride after the final stage at UND).
