Just got home from day 2 of training. HR came into lunch today to talk with us about the company and asked suggestions about making the interview and training process much more enjoyable. First off, starting tomorrow the company is offering $400/week for training, plus paid hotel. they are giving a $750 bonus upon completion of your checkride, and another $500 bonus after 6 months employment. They will be back up in Grand Forks second week in June for interviews. This is a PRIME time to get in with this company. They just signed a contract with Delta to fly 16 planes with the possibility of more in the future. Northwest just extended their contract with them last winter for 10 years. this company will be around for awhile (unless NWA tanks, but they just exited ch.11 today). One of the biggest things of concern for most applicants is the status of the contract. What we have been told is that they are held up on a couple issues such as days off, rest periods, ect. From what I gathered the pay had already been resolved with a "significant" increase in 2nd and 3rd year FO pay. Current the company lacks on this, and all the execs. know that. This is a great time to come work here. Management realizes that they are extreemly short on pilots, and are doing everything they can to bring in more applicants. If anybody has any questions, feel free to PM me. If i cannot answer i will defidently find someone who can. The majority of openings are at Detoilet so if you want to fly LOTS, that is the place to go (for now that is, these things change). Bases for the airline are Detroit, Minneapolis, and Memphis. they will be opening up another base for the Delta flying which has yet to be announted. Upgrades are running around two years if you have the required time, possibly even less. NOTE: Applicants MUST have completed the ATP exam, and have the FCC license, first class medical, passport. Minimums for the company depend on experience. The CRJ program at UND or any flight school will reduce the minimums. Current advertised mins. on UNDs job board are 400TT w/CRJ course.
