Anyone tried China Garden or Hunan Chinese.

This review reminded me of Jace.

We just moved back home to Grand Forks from California. If you're looking for GREAT chinese food this is it! Mongolian beef/pork, crab rangoons, and everything we've tried are excellent.

because of health code issues, if i'm not mistaken, that place got shut down for a period of time when foxcow and i were seniors. either that or we just stopped going there because our friend found something not very nice in his food. i can't remember.

i do recall trying to steal the box of fortune cookies by the door one night and finding out the hard way that it was attached to a chair....thwarted.

China Garden is probably the best Grand Forks has to offer. Hunan closed, didn't it?

Hunan changed owners thus the Name changed to Dragon Buffet.. same people there and all, but they cut out their lunch time deal, as i found out one day, and then they completely closed a little while later, it was my favorite place for Chinese ... too bad they closed, however everytime i went there it was pretty empty.

Sometimes when I go eat at Chinese restaurants and order sweet and sour chicken or pork or barbeque beef, or any other dish for that matter, the dish they serve has way more vegetables and other stuff that I do not want. I order sweet and sour chicken and I expect to get breaded chicken with the sauce. I don't want other things I didn't order that ruin the food. The best kind of rice ever has to be pork fried rice and is the only kind I will ever eat.

All I know is that my roomie and I got china garden once. He couldn't eat all his so he brought it home. It was in the fridge for maybe 2 days at the most, but the fridge stank like whatever he got permanently, even if you cleaned it.

It's the monounsaturated monkey oil they use to deep fry with.

See, that's what I told my roomie, but he wouldn't believe me. He thought it was dog oil, but then it would be Korean

LOL I sure didn't write that. Looks like GF locals who moved to California but couldn't stand the heat in the kitchen so they got out LOL (kinda like when locals move to Minneapolis and they can't handle living there so they move back... *oh jees, the traffic in Minneapolis is oh fer scary der donchya know!*)

Does anyone have a menu from the China Garden or another Chinese restaurant to either post on here or send me? I'm thinking of having Chinese delivered on Sunday since all the dining centers are closed.

AngelFuree and I just got back from Fargo in the Seminole. We intended to go to Yuki Hana for sushi, but we took off 50 minutes late from Grand Forks because it's apparently the middle of January still here. We needed an EPU start since the engine was so damn cold... heavy winds gusting directly into the engine cowling. Wonderful! So we arrived into Fargo 5 minutes before Yuki Hana closed their kitchen for the night... so we had to revert to Olive Garden. Not too bad I guess. The flight was lots of fun!
