| Wow, it's taking me a long time to read through all of the old posts. I've still got about 25-30 pages of threads to go. Anywho, it's my second semester at UND and have been sick of the dining center's food since October or November. Can't wait to go skiing over spring break and eat real food. Also my first post. ![]()

haha, so true! I am also on my second semester here. The dining center food was good for the begining, but it doesn't really sit well in my stomach after a while. Welcome to JC!

| I have actually stayed within 1-2 pounds of what I weighed in August. I've seen others who have gained at least 15 or 20 pounds and don't know how they do it with the stuff the dining centers serve. Their food just doesn't cooperate with my stomach very good.

| I've lost weight since being here (7 lbs.) It's because I grew up eating Organic and Natural Food and can hardly handle eating the food at the dining centers. So I eat it, but only very little of it. Oh, and if you really want things changed with the food. Go to Hall Government meetings and talk to the Food & Facilities Representative. They bring all problems and suggestions to the Dining People at a weekly meeting. I'm not one, but I've seen people do it. It might help... |

I tried that food a couple of times with other people's meal tickets. Let's just say I won't be coming back for a visit. NASTY food and it did NOT go well with my body LOL.

I think dining center food is pretty high calorie and the buffet style makes it very easy to overeat. Students (like me back then) don't always realize that their metabolism is slowing down rapidly (after about age 20) and you can't keep eating like you did in high school.

| I started getting eye floaters while eating in the dinning center. Those are those pieces of debris that float around in the vitrous fluid. Typically from aging(not until 50 or above) or from eye surgery. Removal of cateracts, retnae re-attachment(detachment can also cause floaters), experiancing rediculous amounts of G-loads to the eyes(falling down, something impacting the eye, getting in a car accident). Ect...Ect... It started with one in my right eye that I would only see as I was just waking up. My brain could cancel it out as it became alert. This continued to progress until I had about 10-15 in both eyes. They were extremely small and I wouldn't notice them unless I was trying to find them. The clear "air bubble" looking ones were the most annoying. I would actually see these while trying to focuse to infinity searching for traffic. I went to an eye doctor because it freaked me out. They just told me it was something that happends as we age and there's nothing to fix them except for lazer treatment or vitrectomy. Low and behold almost as soon as I left the dorms, the floaters went away. Coincedence? Maybe, I don't know. I just know they're gone now and have never returned. One plus is that I learned a crap load about the eye I guess. That's always been something I've been interested in though.
