| So who's all graduating here this Spring? My entire family is flying in, along with two good friends of mine, believe it or not.

| You must be so excited to get away from ND in only like 2.5-3 months!

| I may not be able to graduate by May anymore, but will in August for sure. ![]() I'll do my best to graduate in May if it means waking up at 5AM for a CRJ launch. |

| And a very OVERPRICED one, unless you have the UND CFI employee discount.

I don't get to graduate until spring of 09. I wish I would have figured out what the hell I wanted to get out of this place freshman year. I only just now decided to double major in commercial aviation and aviation management, I've got a lot of catching up to do in aviation management. I could have been leaving with you this may if I had just done commercial aviation, oh well. Congrats on getting the fark out of here in 3 years though.

Remember though... you still need the 15 hours PIC in a multi-engine aircraft to be eligible for the MEI. So, there's no way to get around that. I took MEI in the undergraduate class, and it wasn't that much more expensive. If you take MEI as a graduate, and are a CFI here you'll get the groundschool at no cost and the airplane at a slightly cheaper rate. | |

But that would require me to spend $8200 on CFI (this includes tuition, laptop program, flight costs, etc)... I'd much rather spend $2000 at my local FBO... then another $6000 on CFII, then another whatever amount for MEI....or I can go to ATP and spend roughly $8000 for all ratings: CFI/CFII/MEI. Also, the 15 hours of PIC is $1000 extra at ATP... cheap...

| Yeah, too bad the idiot owner pulled it from the flying club... can't wait for the next one to go on line, but it won't be that cheap... more like $70/wet.

Everything I have to chose from at home is in the 80-120/hr range ranging from a 140 horse cherokee cruiser to a cessna 177 and cherokee 6.

| Sounds like a good deal. Just remember you have to take the CFI checkride in a complex airplane, so I would factor in the cost of an Arrow or 172RG (which i think has a constant speed prop) into your estimates for the course. The 152 would be nice to start out in though cost wise. As far as CFII goes as long as the airplane is IFR equipped, your good to go. No need to worry bout the complex airplane. |
