Alright so I know that if you get a DUI or DWI you can pretty much say goodbye to an aviation career or so they say. What can happen if you get a minor for underage drinking?

Just be smart, unless you already got one. If you did, I wouldn't worry about it. Except that I think it's a misdemeanor. If it is, you can't work at most airlines because they fly into Canada. | |

Just do not drink and drive. If you must drink, do not get behind the wheel or drink in public if you are a minor.

Depending on how long ago it happened most airlines can be forgiving. Unless of course supply and demand prevails and there are more qualified/less convicted candidates to choose from. But I can tell you from personal experience that if you are upfront and admit to the mistake and make it very clear that you learned a lesson and changed for the better most airlines are satisfied with that. a. make sure it is fully disclosed(DUI or minor poss) b. let your interviewer know what you learned and dont try to make excuses you will be fine...and ditto on the boozing and driving....its just bad news

I got a misdemeanor for possession of alcohol underage. It's not consumption, but it was looked at just as negatively. It's off my record now, but it wasn't worth that risk at all. It was no fun explaining it to my two last employers during the interview. They didn't care that it was possession, it was alcohol related, so I was pretty fuxored on that part of the interview. I managed to get both jobs where that issue came up, but it sucked getting grilled about it.

I never had to worry about that. I came to UND when I was 23. California just doesn't give out "minors". In fact, I had never even heard of the phrase "yeah dude, I got a minor" before I moved to ND. In CA, if there is a loud party and IF the cops even come, they just tell everyone to go home. It isn't really as much of a problem there as it is here, but I think it's also more that the cops have better things to do. Example: When I was 18 and had a few too many gin and tonics at a party. The party got VERY out of hand to where the party host actually called the police to have them kick people out (randoms always #### up parties). The police came and had us leave. On my way home we had another police encounter and got pulled over because my DD drove without her lights on (she borrowed her friends car and didn't know how to work the lights)...so we got pulled over by TWO cops because they assumed my DD was a drunk driver. They checked my ID, showed them I was 18, checked to see if I wasn't too drunk (I really was) and they just told us to get the hell home. Different cultures throughout the region - alcohol is more taboo in ND (along with a lack of things to do) so people binge drink... So... if you do decide to come to UND, BE VERY CAREFUL about drinking while underage. If you want to drink, do it at a chill house party where you know it won't be busted by the UPD.......... and don't even think about drinking and driving. EVER.

| It is taboo here. "Sven honey, we're Lutheran here sooooooh it's not good for youwah towah drink that big beee-ad alcohol, donchya know. It's against the church orders. If you do drink, you will go to hell."... "Yah ma, I think I'll just goooh start up my snooooowmobile and head ooover towah the lake to gooooh ice fishin, darn tootin'!"..."Oooohkeeay son, I will just knit here and prepare some lufse and wait for youwah to return." (Meanwhile the son gets his friend Björn to buy him a 24 pack of Keystone light at the bottle shop, since alcohol is big and bad you have to have a specialized restriced store to sell it called a "bottle shop"...never is it in the grocery stores readily available. YEEEAH! BEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!)......later that night "Dude I just fell off a 3rd floor balcony, it was sooooooo cool! yeah man I'm a prooven man with this beeeeeer! YEAH!"..........typical daily life of a North Dakotan.

| Old Skool | agreed. ive never understood what you guys are meaning to say by that. alcohol is embraced and loved here. not taboo at all. sure their drinking habits are a bit uncivilized, but "taboo" is not the appropriate word to be used hell, i think alcohol is GLORIFIED here. taboo is things like: -being homosexual -wearing nice clothing -non monogamous, consensual relationships -strippers

That's very bad. It's against the lord jesus christ our wonderful lovely saviour. Haven't you learned from church?! There are no homo-secks-you-alls in North Dakota. The law says that only man and woman can marry so everybody abides by it. Conformity and uniformity is key here. Haven't you heard?

a) he's an idiot b) texas doesnt even vote majority republican for governor anymore. the last guy to get elected only got something like 35% of the vote, with two independents and a democrat taking the rest.
