If you don't mind just simply down hill skiing and riding the lift like 5,000,000 times, I think there's skiiing in Bemidji.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO SKIING IN THIS AREA.

NO SKIING.

Unless you want to cross country ski across the lovely prairie.

You can do a nice little day trip to CA, UT, CO, WY, or MT for skiing in your dad's private jet, but that's it.

Duluth at Spirit Mountain or North of Duluth at Lutsen. Its the best thing you will get without driving west

Giants Ridge north of Duluth is pretty nice as well. Its not as popular as Spirit Mountain or Lutsen, so the crowds may be less depending on the day.

Also, if you like skiing you may want to try snowkiting... I've been wanting to try for a long time. I better do it before the snow melts...this is the very last time I get to see the flat prairie of North Dakota.

yup there is because NV is a mountain state and gets a lot of snow even in the desert. One place is right next to the city of las vegas called mount charleston, it has a couple ski resorts. As far as other parts of NV I have heard of a few but nothing like the lake tahoe area. and Incline village's Diamond Peak is awesome but dont forget Mt Rose and Heavenly.

Yeah Elko, NV is pretty much in the desert and it gets a lot of snow.

Breckenridge is amazing. I went out there two years ago, and really enjoyed it. Have fun out there.

By the way, how much snow do you guys have up in Grand Forks? I talked to my mom back in Northern IL, and I guess they have at least a foot of snow right now, and they are calling for 2-3 more inches tonight. All the while, I'm gearing for weather that is going to be in the 50s and 60s next weekend here in Southern IL. I can't wait.

We don't have a damn thing up here compared to the rest of the midwest. I'd say MAYBE 4 inches packed sitting on the ground right now.

There is great Heli skiing in the Ruby Mountains in the middle of northern Nevada. Here: http://www.helicopterskiing.com/

We don't get much snow here because it's too cold for it to snow. No...I'm serious...really!
