just makes it all the sweeter. Then you find yourself trying to teach a brand new student, keep yourself out of BWI class B that is 200ft above you and 2 miles to the left, and following ADIZ procedures. But its all forgiven when you get home and realize "I dont have to do homework!"

It's gona take me 4.5-5 years, with summer sessions and taking 18 credits per semester to get done. I switched back and forth between commercial aviation and aviation management. I just knew deep down that I had an interest in business, but a lot of the teachers in the business department make a potentially boring subject like accounting and econmics and ensure that it becomes boring as hell with their 1940s teaching style. It took me 2 years to decide. I figured, I'm gona be here for 2 more years to catch up with the business stuff, I might as well double major. If I can pull this off it'll be the academic achievement of all time for me. We'll see though.

What are you doing now these days? I'm guessing instructing, but where at? Sounds like the opposite of what you could get out of UND, that's for sure. Which would be fun.

I started the beginning of this month at www.capitolairservices.com We have two locations, one is W29 and it was pretty awesome to fly out of, but in theory we're in the process of closing that one down. Our other location is at KFME, which is where I am now. The airspace kinda sucks, but you get used to it pretty quickly. It was certainly quite different from the area around GFK. My two flights to the MSP area didn't quite get me prepared for operating in and around busy airspace like this, but its really less of a big deal than I was expecting it to be. So far so good though. I think the best part is flying over a part of the world that doesn't look like a perfectly rectangular quilt.

Looks like a good deal man. That looks a lot more fun than instructing at UND(as far as the actual flying goes). I can't decide if I want to try again to get hired here or not. I did good enough on the pre-hiring test this time around, but had to turn them down because my schedule just wasn't gona work out with school, instructing part time, and working at another job(part-time CFI just isn't gona pay the bills) I'd like to work here to get a little experiance and stay proficient though.

You can't make a living off $8.65 or $9.50 an hour, or whatever the pay for a CFI is here at UND.

I think that is the part-time pay. It get 9.50 at coke, but I can work more than a measly 6-10 hours a week. I think it goes up to 12 when full time and then 16 when you get your MEI.(?)

Pay is based first on graduation status. You’ll make only a certain amount until you graduate; after that, it depends on the type of courses that you’re teaching. Your hourly rate is based on your “highest” course pay.
