You'd better not be teasing me. When did they build this?

If those go-karts are what I think they are, they're real ones with bumpers on them. If they are I wouldn't expect that place to be around for very long. We had one in my home town that was very popular. I mean who wouldn't love to scream around in an old warehouse at 70mph? It had to close down for insurance reasons. Judging by how little Grand Forks natives utilize things in this town(except the bars), I'd be surprised if they brought in near the amount of money the one I used to go to did.

angel was teasing us hehe....... so I played on it and thought I'd have a little fun with sarcasm.

Indoor karting is so much fun... it's fun to slam into the little kids "accidentally" when they're trying to enter the apex...but they're not even going near the apex so all you do is squeeze in and use their kart as a guard rail so you can take the apex attack faster ...good strategy that works every time

Haha, it was 8 in the morning and I was pissed that I couldn't get my car started. My mind was working pretty slow.

I've found another thing that works really well is keep the accelerator floored and brake against the engine when needed. This keeps the engine spooled up against the centrifical clutch. You have to crafty about how you do this though, the owners don't usually like when you do this. In reality you only save about 2-3 seconds on your lap time though.

Reminds me of actual bumper cars. It's soooooo much fun to trap people. They get so pissed that they payed $15335 for the ticket but couldn't do anything. My sister and I used to do that all the time. We would go there w/ the intention of trapping people. We'd find a victim based on how bad of a driver they looked like (there faces say it all lol) and we'd trap them during the whole ride. SOooooooooo much fun!

That's sad. Like the website said indoor karting is really a niche market.

It's like selling a specific aviation product to pilots in the USA. Very small market and very competetive.

All the karting places in CA seem to be doing well. They've been open for quite a few years. They're always busy at any time of the day. It could be a fad though - who knows.

I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to go karting - if more people went, they'd be able to lower the price a bit to make it more affordable for everyone. It's expensive as it is. Believe it or not, renting a Cessna 172 is about the same cost and provides about the same thrill.

Yeah, they'd get up to 70 on the long slightly curved straight if you clipped the apex off the final corner just right. You'd crash hard core, pretty much life threatening, if you didn't slow down for corners on this go-kart track. Probably why it closed down in a short period of time. There were 3 pretty bad accidents that I know if and it closed down because insurance costs were too much.

The places with descent karts need sponsers to keep the price down. I think you'd find that it's actually more expensive to run a go-kart than rent a plane. The REAL ones at least. That's where most fall short and then if insurance costs sky rocket, as was the case with the one in my home town, the price must go up to cover it and no one wants to go anymore. Then it shuts down.
