What is so good about flying at UND in the summer after graduating. Is it a fun experience or would you never do it again. Give me the benefits of doing it and the cons. Any advice would be great but preferably from people who have done this.

In all seriousness, you can really do the course whenever you want. There's things to be said about doing courses in the summer - if you do only that one class, that's all you have to concentrate on and you can really learn a lot. You also don't have the added pressure of additional classes. Thus, it may be easier to finish on time as well. That being said, you don't need to feel pressured into flying during the summer unless you want to - you'll still graduate on time. If you DO fly during the summer, try to get a morning launch. Yeah, waking up early isn't fun, but thunderstorms tend to roll in after noon, and it starts to get choppy up there after 11:00am or so. Morning flights are just much more enjoyable- plus the rest of your day is free after ground school!

Trust me. You want to fly during the summer if you have no girl friend to hold you back from doing it. 102 is a pretty hard course to finish on time during the fall. Over half the students either drop out or do not finish on time. Why not get a head start? You have a pretty good shot at finishing over the summer because it isnt likely that you will get weathered. The quicker you get done with your flight courses, the quicker you can be a CFI = the quicker you build hours = the quicker you get hired by a regional airline. (Assuming you learn it well.)

In all seriousness I think one advantage to taking 102 the summer after you graduate is that you can get through your flight courses faster which leaves you the opportunity to flight instruct part time as you finish up school.

But, at least Pinnacle will hire you right after you complete 325! (only kidding... kinda) Summer though, is the best time to fly up here. I can't really describe it, but the atmosphere at the airport is different and more enjoyable that time of the year

If you do it in the summer then you don't have to worry about trying to get a ground school slot in the fall. It does suck though when you leave for school and all your friends back home party all summer before they leave.

Yeah of course assuming that is what you want to do. I was just looking at it through my perspective. I am going to take at least one flight course each summer until I am done from now on. I am going to work as hard ass I can to do 221/222 this upcoming summer. My goal is to finish my finance degree while I am being a CFI and get on with Horizon.

and if you do it during the summer you don't have to freeze your nards off during preflight until 222. Most of the flying in 221 is early in the semester, then its just sims. So you wont have to fly on a regular basis when its cold until January.

| Old Skool | yeah, overall it hasn't been too bad. I'm a bit upset that its not going to be balls cold this week because my parents are coming up for graduation. They wont be able to see what I've been bitching about for the last 5 years
