Default Officially Winter

Just put the snow tires on along with the black 14 inch steelies and hubcaps! woohoo! God hubcaps looks so ugly One hupcap cracked last year so I only have 3...looks ghetto, so if you see a car with 1 missing hupcap revealing some sweet $20 wheels, say hi.

Tom are you ready to film a new drift video?

I see, we just put all season tires on the Subaru and we can go anywhere. Now that I think about it, none of our vehicles have winter tires. I just gather alot of weight to put in the back end of the trucks .

YES!!!

I'm thinking some tandam parallel drifting on 20th street through that S. We'll have to run the stop sign to do it. Then we could go through the S on 42nd. After that I'm thinking some 80mph slides on interstate on and off ramps. Then good old slolem drifting around the poles in the walmart or menards parking lot.

Is ND one of those states that doesnt allow studded winter tires? Gotta love studs, definitely gives you the advantage when rally racing in empty icy parking lots, plus at night it's cool to see the sparks fly!

ND does allow them. They can only be on during a certain period though.

I may end up buying these used studded tires that someone is selling here - $40 for all 4 tires and the exact same tire size for my car's spare winter wheels, you can't beat the fun in ice autocrossing!!! I can't wait for the first ice autocross on Devil's Lake...will be in February.

It appears that studded tires are allowed basically 364 days out of the year, where the one day it's sunny and above freezing is reserved for non-studded tires only

Are studded tires allowed in North Dakota?

They are allowed from October 15 to April 15. School buses, however, are allowed to employ studded tires any time of year, as long as they are moving school children.

You can ride with me if you want...I know at least 2 other people will want to ride. The more people in the car, the heavier the car and the greater the grip! I will of course be filming it with my headrest camera mount.

Yeah ND allows studs but my understanding is MN doesn't. So drive to East Grand Forks for dinner/cabelas/whatever else there is to do in EGF and you risk getting a ticket.

I think it'd be pretty easy to get away with it, unless a cop was outside and heard your noisy tires on the pavement. But if caught, I'm sure the ticket would be costly since traffic tickets in MN are so high.

I was just out driving. The Camry does really well in snow, so I was just fine. It made me really want a beater car though to drift around...
