I just got back from the store to purchase a turkey... will be making stuffing, cranberry sauce, parsnip, mashed potatoes, gravy, greenbean casserole, and pumpkin pie... all of it will be made from scratch as that's the only way to do it (Stovetop Stuffing=yuck!). My roommate is making the pies...I don't know how to bake and won't ever learn as I screw everything up that I bake. This is the first time I will have made a Thanksgiving dinner...so I might as well learn and go all out by making it all from scratch. My brother is bringing LOTS of California wine and other goodies from my wonderful country of California. I spent only $50 for everything...pretty cheap for a dinner for 6 people! What's everyone else doing for Thanksgiving?

is "gobble gobble" the sound of a turkey or the sweatpants wearing herd banzai-ing for Turkey day dinner I kid. I kid.on a serious note I remember this was the season when I first went home in 4 months last year, felt like it was yesterday too.

Sounds great Jason! I hope you enjoy it. I'm going to Minneapolis with my buddy Peter and staying at his place. At least I'll still have that "Home Thanksgiving Dinner." To head home for me is just too much money for airfare and it's just not enough time for all the travel. I wish I were, but I'll just have to wait until December. |

I'm stuck here as well. I'll be having thanksgiving with some friends on Thursday. Already had a thanksgiving dinner on Sunday with my friends that are leaving, that was pretty damn good. Can't wait for Thrusday now!

Thanksgiving, my favorite American holiday, where families get together and actually cook a great meal at least for ONCE. Not much of a solid family structure exists to what I observer here anyway so I'm thankful for thanksgiving for making people put the effort. I'm headed for Minneapolis! YES lovley dinner followed by shopping then driving in 'crazy traffic', drinking, clubbing, random girls at the bar, hotel room.. Oh the irony after my thanksgiving note. CITY CITY CITY, PEOPLE LIFE COLOR

Not being snotty, but I still stick to my thoughts that MSP is NOT a real city. Tugrul overrates it. I'm still debating what to do for Christmas. I found tickets to NYC for $164 round trip from MSP. The only good thing in MSP is the airport and its ticket prices to NYC. ![]() Then again, I might end up in Cali this December. Gotta go visit. The sooner the better. |
