I like to keep my avatars car related at the very least. The only car of mine I have a picture of up close is the olds, and it looks retarded.

Agree. BUT MErcedes is meant for more people. Middle class/upper middle class can easily drive off with a BRAND NEW ONE. of those that are not wait 6-7 years and you can get them used. also Karl Benz was the first to invent and invision the "horseless carrige" (car), his wife was rumored to have invented or suggest the concept of higher and lower gears. Funny thing is too his first patent the 'motorwagen' was often laughed by people by its design and inability to be controlled. 120 years later in the year 2003 it is the number 1 used word in rap songs, almost every african King has an S class, the star hooded ornament has been a guiding sign for EVERY driver. I can go on and on about this.... now can Aston martian, Ferarri or Lamborguini top that?!

Aaaah the E39 M5. The last of the non-Bangle-ized (I put a link for people to learn about Chris Bangle) BMW's.

This was pushing it, but I still like it:

But NOTHING can EVER beat the design and performance value of an E30 M3:

I kinda like the E46 as well. But yes, E30 M3 for the win. I don't care how much it costs, I WILL have an aspen white one in my stable. There's two cars I lust for the most. That is the '69 camaro, and E30 M3. Quite the pair I know, but they're amazing cars.

Eh...I dont ever want a benz simply because of the "stuck up rich person" stigma that is often attatched to it...unless its an SLR, but that's a different story.

I don't like Mercedes-Benz' - no matter how much I tried to convince my mother and father from each buying one, they still did. Now they have two M-Classes, obviously made mostly in the USA with only a few parts coming from Germany. Why they both bought the same SUV's is beyond me.

Speaking of stuck up rich person stigma that some cars have, that Jaguar X-Type crew car at KSTP that all the aviation students rave about is, well, a FORD! But since it's badged as a Jaguar it must be some nice car, right? Wrong. It's a $29,000 "fake luxury car" based on the european Ford Mondeo platform. If one takes a quick look at the interior they will realize that most of the plastic interior buttons came directly out of a Ford Taurus. Yuck. I don't know why Jaguar decided to ruin their image with that car...it's quite a bit different from the rest of their nice line up. But they keep it quiet as much as possible... like they're gonna ever advertise that it's just a glorified Ford Mondeo

Holy crap I can't express how much the x-type sucks. I think I don't like it so much for the reason that the people that buy them have no clue they're just driving an entry level sedan from Ford. Then again, so are lexus drivers, but at least Toyota made it nice.

I don't think it's so much Jaguar ruining themselves as it is just Ford ruining Jaguar. Ford has done amazing things with Aston Martin however, so I don't know why Jaguar become the target for bastardization. Now, if they've updated the x-type to the new mondeo, I bet it's a good car, performance wise at least. But I bet it's still based on the chassis we have in america known as the focus.
