I am on my third instructor for CFI. Now I am with a lead and I highly doubt I will have to switch anymore this semester. I can't really complain, it is good to know that people are getting hired.

| We were told at one of our meetings that "IF" they were to hire for the Spring semester the hiring test would be on Reading and Review day. And, I can't remember for sure, but I thought that they said the interviews would be on Jan 3

So... you can have pride for UND Aerospace while not having pride for your hockey team.

You can probably expect a few more instructors to leave soon, as long as Pinnacle and Piedmont keeps picking them up with 500 hrs.... pfff

In fact, to any of you that have met me in person. You know I don't go around preaching about how much this place sucks. I will start talking about it if the topic pops up in the conversation. And even though those of you who know me, know that I'm pretty straight up in saying things, not being pussy about what I say, I still have my manners and respect to those who I'm talking to in person. I don't think I've ever gone up to a North Dakotan to tell them how much their state sucks. That's pretty rude. And if I talk a lot of #### here about this state it's because about the whole prospective student deal we've talked about maybe a million times. Besides, it's funny as hell seeing you guys getting stirred up for my silly remarks. The first person to tell me that I won't get far with this attitude deserves to be shot. | |

| We may sound like dicks, but when people ask for our opinion on this place, we give it to them with utmost honesty. We want to help people make a wise decision when choosing UND and prevent people from making mistakes in moving to a location that they won't like. That way you can say "well, we warned you".

It's not so much a pride for your school thing as it is a positive attitude thing. You absolutely have to stay positive in the cockpit when you're instructing.

We aren't better than anyone who enjoys living here. Again, it's all about our own personal needs. Me and the others who "bitch about Grand Forks" enjoy living in civilized places and depending on one's personal definition of "civilized", Larimore may be that place! It has a couple of bars, one gas station (or two), and some people. For me, that is not a civilized location, but for others it might be. For me, Grand Forks isn't, nor is Fargo. I require a place to have authentic ethnic cuisine, this place doesn't. Hell, it doesn't even have a Norwegian restaurant! You'd think with all the Svenssons and Olsons in the phone book there would. We will continue to bitch and moan about Grand Forks when the advice is requested by a potential student, given from a more urban perspective. You have just as much opportunity for rebuttal as we do. You can provide the rural-minded side and say this place is wonderful...or the urban-minded side and say this place is wonderful. Once again, for someone who grew up in a rural location Grand Forks may be the metropolis for them - and there is nothing wrong with that. We all grew up with different perspectives and have different NEEDS. Now let's go have a JC UND meet sometime soon!

How about meeting at the new indoor karting track? Or the new Grand Forks Dave & Busters?
