Jason, I saw that you've been assigned to my CFII instructor for your 416/10 ride... haha. I've got some things for ya to look out for on your flight that he likes to pull. Oh, and I can't believe how long the wait list is for the 102/14...

I've been busy being unproductive now that I never have to fly at UND again (unless you count CRJ sim)

Been busy flying, thankfully I got my 102/14 done a couple weeks ago, so now I am just waiting for some good weather for my cross country flights. What does everyone think about the email from GFK airport authority criticizing UND pilots? He must still be mad he doesn't have a new terminal...

granted UND kids are idiots and no, they DONT listen to radios before trying to chime in with their request....but uhm, why dont emergency ops switch to their own freq? 121.5 anyone?

and besides, pfft, some n00b off in the grass? uh, not my problem! i gotta get my lesson done! wheeee!

121.5 would be great for emergencies, but according to controllers from GFK tower, they don't monitor it, FSS does.

no no im just saying use some other freq for emergency ops once the emergency has been established

ie

plane goes into grass

tower contacts ARFF

tower directs all ops related to the emergency on field to use xyz frequency

because the emergency should have the priority and people should be smart enough to keep communication to a minimum if something happens. Also, if they had to use a different freq, then tower would have to 1) Keep up with the regular traffic 2) Keep up with what the ARFF is doing 3) coordinate between the two. Personally if I'm out taxiing to a runway and the fire truck is heading out to the runway, I'd like to know a little beforehand so I can stop or do my best to stay out of its way.

Haha it is nasty.... it's brown and the paint scheme has a stupid design... like what were they thinkin'? Imagine the first owner saying "yeeup, I think that's exactly how I like it! Go ahead and paint her up!"

I am reading Remer's A/C Systems book as we speak, or I should say trying to read it.

Hehe we were plotting crazy charts in lab with him today. Meteorology labs always have a lot of paperwork. I remember Meteorological Instrumentation was a crazy course of equations and labs, but it was fun making your own glass thermometer!
