   |  who took the crazy pills at KGFK today?
departing at 1300, 35L/17R was closed due to a WARR that spun a 360 in the grass.... OOPS...maybe they tried a soft field, in the wrong direction? crazy amounts of "GREEN ....UHM....FIVE SIX...UHM....READY UHM....." loads of ground traffic.... had a SAAB depart 26, 17L was the active... returning at 1430 there was an ARRO that blew a tire on takeoff somehow, tried to make a 2 wheel landing, scrambled the fire trucks and all.... anyone know how that turned out??

Yeah, I was just getting back from my spin flight and then I saw mesaba take off of 26. I was like wtf? Now I know. I'm not sure if that guy was in the pattern when I left. There were a lot of greens out today it seemed.

Ha 'tis the season... brings back memories! ive seen the saab land on 26 but the winds were hellacious wait until the first few snows (especially at the practice area airports) Dana gets really busy around then. fly safe everyone! |

aw #### that sucks man, glad the guy is okay but ya never WANT to see a newbie end up spun out in the grass!! bad juju!! yeah mesaba seemed a bit frustrated and just busted out on 26 instead of waiting around for things to clear up!! hahahah and wtf the ARRO thought the bird clearing bang was a tire busting??? who is this instructor and has he not been at the field in weeks or what? im surprised anyone could hear the little POOF sound over a revved engine anyway.... weird stuff today.
