Tonight's not a good night for birds. I nailed one while on my way back from crookston. I saw something (bird/bat?) fly infront of the landing light and heard quite a loud thud as well as felt a shudder in the rudder pedals. Came back no problem and there was no apparent damage. Just a bunch of blood on the nose wheel, which explanes the shudder in the pedals. My plane was number 4 so far tonight, I came back with evidence though. err

Time to open up the "caution various birds in the vicinity" on the ASOS. I went flying late afternoon in the 172 and there were birds everywhere.....there were a few at 2000 feet even. Wierd.

Yeah, I hit this one on my way back way out in the middle of no where at 2100. The whole time I was seeing birds flying in front of the lights. It was just a matter of time last night I guess. My instructor was mad because he's had 4 bird strikes up here and hasn't seen a single one of them. We had quite the mess on the nose wheel though.

Because we were informed about the birdstrikes and were given insrtuctions to be careful so that we did not have every aircraft in the wash bay. -Farva |

I'd love for one to go out the next day unwashed. All I can picture is some girl going out to the plane and then coming back to dispatch sayingm, accusingly, "Ummm, there's blood on my plane..."

| The tower advised us of five other incidents. So I was at least number six and that was at 9:30. So I'm sure there was more.
