1.why do we have to get an ATPL license? is it necessary for us to get an ATPL to get hired by the major airlines???

2.which is better going to UND or getting the license in an academy??

In reference to you questions....

1. You do need a ATP license in order to be PIC of a Large Transport Category aircraft. but its a multi part license in that it requires the ATP written to be taken and passed sucessfully, must have 1500 hours TT, Pilot to have good moral judgement, be the age of 23, and there are a few more requirements. Airlines do not require the license at hiring but most require the written to be completed.

2. You will not get a ATP license or written by going through UND or any academy. The best bet for that is get all of your ratings and licenses and then once you built up a little time then go and study for the written and then go apply to a airline and after you have sucessfully completed all requirements then you can be issued ATPL.

Hope this helps.

Dont worry Jace, the judgement part is really easy....dont try to kill yourself, and you will get the ATPL.
