ummm Talk to a counerlor which you will if you in getting started. OR look over the green course book 100 level classes are frosh classes, I suggest taking 16 credits/units MAX. have a day off just saved up for flying. and 102 is a pritty hefty course load stay on top of it.

Don't let them talk you out of taking math the first year you're here if that's what you'd like to do. I didn't take math until this summer. Two years of no math killed me, I had to drop it no less. highly suggest getting math out of the way right away if you are able to get into it.

That and the fall isn't as generous weather wise as the spring semester is. So if you're gona take 16 or more credits, I'd concentrate real hard on getting as much done as possible before November. That or take 16 credits of easier stuff so you'll have more free time available to fly. Honestly, I'd suggest only 12 credits your first semester with Avit 102(the private pilot course). Avit 102 is the "weeding out" course. When I took it, I think the pass rate was only 65-70% or something. Heck, I think it could have even been lower than that. So I think it would be a good idea for you to just take 12 your first semester just so you have ample time for avit 102, your flight lab, and getting used to college life. 12 credits one semester will not set you back at all.

Sounds good..I planned on only taking around 12 credits this first semester. I already have my private so I know what thats about. I guess I take an accellerated private UND style.

Ah yes, the test course. 112 I think is what its called? I did the same thing. While I know the course is designed for people coming in that came from "bad" FBOs, I really never thought 14 lessons was neccessary. There's a "first solo" lesson in there which I found that just insulting. Uh hello, I fly in the Chicago area. Even Minneapolis is a cake walk compared to everything I fly in back home. I could do IFR in the Grand Forks area while reading a magazine and talking on the phone. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal I guess. It doesn't cost much at least.

Make sure you're up to speed on all of your knowlege. It'll save a little headache in 102. While doing nothing but local area flights for a year and a half with friends didn't hurt my stick and rudder skills, it killed my knowlege base on everything. If you dont apply stuff like that you forget it, like I did.

I agree with the 14 lesson deal..I think thats a bit much. Its funny you mention just flying around with friends for stick and rudder, thats basically what I'm doing now..guess I'll have to brush up on some stuff.

I've been thinking about the same thing lately. I've come to realize that I'm not as sharp as the day I got my PPL. I, too will be studying up a little bit this summer...
