Hello Everyone -- I'm looking for some help here. I'm coming in the Fall as a freshman. I am not attending the Getting Started Program this summer because of time and job commitments. Is there an alternate way to register for classes now or in the near future (online, calling)? I'm taking the PPL "Test Course" in the fall if I can get into that. Thanks in advance everyone. Adam |

The best thing to do is get your hands on one of the course catalogs to see what you need to take depending on your major. Probably, since it is your first year, several general eds and your test course. Once you figure out what classes you want to take, go to the Fall Schedule of Classes to see what time they are actually offered. I kinda make up a grid on Microsoft Word with all the days of the week/times. Then I piece together the schedule I want. Make sure you write down the class # of the classes you want to schedule. Once you figure out the classes from the site above you just need to go to Peoplesoft and submit them all. Go HERE and log into Peoplesoft with your EmplID and password. On the left sidebar, click "Register for Classes," then "Enroll in a Class." Then select the term (Fall 2006), and then "Add Classes." All you have to do from here is enter all the class numbers that you wrote down from before. At this point, after you submit the classes, Peoplesoft will tell you if there are any errors (conflicts, prereqs req'd, or class full). If you are lucky, there won't be any. If you wanted to check and see if a class is full before you register for it, you can go to "Catalogs and Course Schedule" on the left sidebar, followed by "View Schedule of Classes." For the code, type in 0710. All you have to do from here is type in the subject code/catalog number. It will then basically show you the same info as the stuff in paragraph two -- but with seats available. Also...NEVER PRESS THE BACK BUTTON ON YOUR WEB BROSWER WHILE NAVIGATING THROUGH PEOPLESOFT -- IT DOESN'T LIKE THAT! Peoplsoft is really a pretty clumbsy and complicated way of doing things. I was pretty confused and still am a bit confused as to why some things work they way they do. Once you mess around with it for awhile it isn't all that bad. Supposedly they are supposed to be making it better -- but I haven't seen this happen. Hope this helps a little! Good Luck.
