Default N436ND and Garmin MX20 MFD

When did UND get this MFD installed into some steam guage Warriors? It was pretty cool to see all the traffic on the MFD along with their altitude in relation to my altitude. There was also a S-tec digital ADF and digital Transponder outfitted into it (like most of the newer Warriors). I guess it's pretty cool, but man that's an expensive piece of equipment...I hope we don't have hourly rates increase just for some fancy LCD display

They were talking about it a year ago, it was fun flying them, but now I am with the arrow.

But this is not glass though - steam guages, but with a tiny 6" screen on the far far right side of the panel:

Yeah it does actually mean they can spy on you. The MX 20 is equipped with miss cleo's magic ADS-B box wich will could allow you to be tracked by the SOF on a computer and you can be tracked by all other aircraft with it.

Yea, riddle uses those as well to track our every movement. They're really easy to use, so its cool. It definitly helps when its crazy busy around Daytona.

BTW, when it says 'Traffic Unavailable' it just means the uplink (Or whatever its called, I forget the technical term for it) just isnt getting a response. I've found when you go out in the middle of nowhere it usually isnt available.

The "traffic unavailable" voice comes from the Garmin 430, does it not? I know I've heard that with airplanes with just the GPS. I was under the impression that the MFD operated differently. The garmin 430 traffic system works kind of like mode S right?

yeah, I hadn't gotten the memo bout the mode S transponders, so the first time I flew towards the south and got the "traffic unavailable" it scared the hell outta me. Last thing I expected to hear in my headset was a british dude.

The freakiest one which made my stomach knot was "Traffic" and the screen showed 00 with a yellow dot on top of us. Clearly it was a false indication of our own plane, but that really does scare you instinctivley
