Default Just got back from Fargo

I highly recommend visiting Fargo more often - descent restaurants and wonderful store hours. Fargo is the only place that has a real bookstore (ie, one that is open until 11pm and has every popular home audio and graphic design magazine on their shelves). I also recommend Bennigan's - very good chain restaurant that I miss from back home. Everyone should try the Bennigan's Montecristo sandwich ...fried and battered - extremely bad for you but SOOO good MMmm tasty. Nice beer selection and great servers. Next time I will try Saffron Indian restaurant. Anyone want to hitch a ride next time and enjoy the wonderful tasty treats of Fargo?

I will go with ya to Fargo next time! Angel was telling me about your interests in doing a PRACS study over there. We should all go for the screening and then go grab some good food sometimes in the near future.

Yes we should do a PRACS study - the one in Fargo has wifi access for when we get assigned our cinder-block jail cells and random needle poking assessments haha.

I want to do a PRACs study so I can buy a new Rotel 5-channel home theater amp.... $1000-1200 used . It's massive:

Yeah Fargo has some GREAT establishments. I know it's not anything close to what other cities offer, but it's still nice to get out of GFK. So far I like:

1) Famous Dave's - pretty good southern BBQ (Jeremy will chime in re: this). Pretty reasonable prices.
2) Hodo Lounge/Restaurant - very nice upscale modern martini lounge. EXCELLENT martini selection and food menu. I go here often - it sure is a treat

And... I will soon check this restaurant out probably next weekend: Saffron

How far is Fargo from Grand Forks? On the drive out in August my family and I are staying in Fargo one night.

When I visited UND we flew into Fargo on UA...it was only like an hour drive. Not bad at all. Some people like to go 100 on that highway.

If you are only going 100 you are going too slow, the roads are straight as an arrow in ND for a reason

There's a reason why I've made it to Fargo in 45 minutes

If you want some real fun, head down to NDSU during rush week, find out when Sigma Nu is doing their maze party (god I hope they still do it!!), load up on your favorite adult bevarge (you can put martinis in a squirt bottle), grab your favorite gal/guy and go get lost in the maze!

Isn't that during Halloween? I know there's some big corn maze in Valley City during that time.

Honestly I don't remember the exact dates, its been almost 10 years, but rush is usually during the first few weeks of school, about the same time UND does theirs. The corn maze in VC is fun as well, but more family orientated.

Sigma Nu at UND does a fairly good rush event as well with their yard party, but I always got the "munchies" from this thick haze at their parties???

Amp looks like Chester Fritz auditorium, meanwhile I am not a fan of PRACS, I'm not selling my body, better yet getting sealed in a confined room and poked by needles sounds like gloryhole.com

I love the Corn Maze, especially the one room they have with the spinning tunnel, disorienting and really fun

So I just got back from the Toasted Frog - the new martini/restaurant lounge in downtown Grand Forks that took the space that Lola's was once in.

I had Spinach Basil woodfired pizza - very very good. You can smell the woodburning oven from the outside. My friend had mahi mahi tacos with mango salsa (yes, just like the mango salsa phrase in the Geico commercial). We had a couple glasses of Frei Bros Merlot (I'm surprised they had it) - and one martini. Pear pie with cinnamon ice cream followed soonafter. The place has the "look" of an upscale modern lounge - just like Hodo Restaurant in Fargo. It's great to see these places come up because it adds some culture and life to this place. It was VERY packed for a Monday night. Let's keep these great places alive by supporting them... Music is great...they play nothing but ambient mixes. If anyone wants some tasty drink treats, I highly recommend this place!

Toasted Frog is definitely a great place to go. I loved the atmosphere, and service was good too last time we went.

I agree that the Toasted Frog is one of the nicest spot in Grand Forks for a great atmosphere to chat and chillax with good friends. We should all go there again one of these days. I have never been to any other over 21 establishment in Grand Forks similiar to the Toasted Frog, but I bet they can't compare.
