Default Grand Forks Bars

Ok, so i went to support my friend who got "conned" into Dj'ing at one of the local bars. He started playing our favorite "House" music and these girls kept comming up asking for "rap" aka: "booty music" to dance to. The next thing we knew we were playing that crap all night. They had a "tatoo" contest..which was just as lame as the music...someone needs to open a dance club with something besides rap.

Well, as you know, the music of choice in the midwest is RAP and COUNTRY (ie, Nelly crap that was "cool" 4 years ago or Toby Keith) hahahha In the west and east coasts, it's HOUSE AND DANCE ALL THE WAY!

Perhaps I should try to enjoy some country and rap music while I'm here. Maybe I can grow a new appreciation towards it.

hmm...getting into country...I DON'T THINK SO. I feel bad though, i totally left tugrul there to do that Dj'ing by himself. But he looked swamped with all the lame "requests" for...shakira, eminem, and 50 Cent... haha

We need to have ATB, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, and Ferry Corsten come down and bust their #### out. That would be so sick

HAHA! YEEEEEEEEEAH! I still love 9PM Till I Come and Don't Stop...... timeless ATB hits I had 9PM Till I Come ringtone on my old Nokia cellphone back in 1999....you know the kind of ringers that could only play one tone at a time?

Oh god, Sandstorm needs to die off and exit the face of the earth ...yeah I used to put in ringtones with the keypad. You could specify 16th, 8th, 1/4, 1/2 and whole notes. The annoying this was it wasn't a musical scale... it was A B C D E F G A instead of C D E F G A B C like it should've been

Edit: I remember entering in ATC "Around The World" into the Nokia driving home from San Francisco at 7am after a long night of clubbing I wasn't driving of course...in the passenger seat.

No, don't get me wrong. Rap's not bad, but consistent, same beat, for 5 or 6 hours straight is lame and gets annoying quick!

Hey Jace, Im from the midwest. I dont think you can include Iowa and Illinoise with North Dakota in the same "midwest". This should be called a something else, like hickwest or something. I kid I kid.

Personally, I like a lot of heavy metal. Cradle of filth(some of it), Opeth, OLD metalica, etc... I like a lot of weird stuff to though like K.M.F.D.M. and Mindless Self Indulgence just to name a couple.

Because of this thread, I had to del ete sandstorm from my computer because I just had to go listen to it after reading part of this thread. But I accidently had itunes on permenant loop and I almost died.

I absolutely hate country, it rots your brain. Some rap is Ok, but the rest is absolute crap. More of a rock and alternative guy myself.

Speaking of, I found a new band yesterday, Blue Ocober, good stuff. I am in love with their video for their latest single, Hate Me.
Check it out, http://music.yahoo.com/ar-294759-videos--Blue-October

Hey, I was in Iowa, Oskalooska to be exact, and I wouldn't be bragging about it!!

I know GFK sucks, but every state has its black sheep of a town. It just so happens that in this state (ND), it has the best college.
