Default Water treatment facility

wow, so it smells like C$ap for half the day, not even the usual clean/chlorine like odor of my Ionic Pro Air purifier, matches with the smell of the waste water Treatment plant. I did some research and found out something about it. http://people.howstuffworks.com/sewer3.html I think its the second stage, "Depending of the sophistication of the facility it may take out 90 percent of the bacteria after the second stage." hmm.....knowing this is Grand forks.....I wonder what its sophisticaton level is...
Also youve got from the northwes the treatment plant, north, Simplot, northeast/ east Sugar beets. wow Grand Forks!

Yeah, I can smell it all the way where I live... southwest corner of the town. Usually the smells don't touch this area.

Edit: Now I can smell it in my bedroom with the window closed! Oh the wonderful smells of Grand Forks.

I work security at a beef plant that has one of these. Big place. Has the round skimmers and "bubble tank" You think it smells bad from miles away, try hanging around this stuff for 1 hour every night. Gross.

Because they don't think of innovative/logical ideas in ND j/k ...no but illogical things... like people STILL using checks to purchase a cheeseburger off the dollar menu at McDonald's...that would be unheard of in any progressed/established town or city. I can see Hjørdis Nelson writing a check to Bjørn Svenssen the grocer for some Lufse in the town of Oslo, MN, but come on... at Target when I'm waiting in line an extra 3 minutes just so you can balance your checkbook to pay for some flour for your lufse? There's a wonderful 1980's invention called a check card? SHEESH!

OH MY GOD, I couldn't agree more with what you've just said above. I work at office max and you wouldn't belive the number of checks we get for dumb amounts. One of my managers used to be work at an office max in Las Vegas and he just about goes nuts every night because during an entire day of sales they'd only get about 3 checks in Las Vegas. We get over 100 here,in the evening shift alone!!! Debit cards and credit cards people!!! I'm ranting because it takes TWICE as long to ring someone up on the cash register(NOT THE TILL!!!!!!!!). That and I just got off work so Im all "excited".

LOL! When I worked at Office Max in 1997-1998 in Cali I rarely got a check. In fact, I'd always forget how to ring up people with checks. A couple times I'd end up putting the check in backwards and have it print onto the front of the check! hahaha. Yeah I'd never heard of the cash register being referred to as a "TILL" until I moved here. I guess it's one of those regional things.
