Default Passed 103

Not like anyone here should care, but I'll post more info about the flight later when I get back...
It was like a 2.1 hour flight 325/103, but I've got the commercial now (well...pretty much) so it's all good.

Thanks guys! Haha, nevermind, I guess it wasn't that long, I was going by the clock, time off and time back...I guess we might've left REAAAAAAL late then...'cause it was actually 1.7 flight and we came back maybe 20 minutes late. Launch time of 11:30 returned at 1:35...

Flight was done w/ Brian Willis, a real cool guy, probably one of the most laid back stage examiners ever, especially for a stage of this kind. He offered good advice at the post-briefing in a calm manner without making you feel like an ass, haha.

He failed my engine on the way to Practice Area M, at 6500, and had me restart it. I tried using the unfeathering accumulator checklist, but the thing wouldn't restart. I pitched down to increase the airspeed, lol, so much that even at 115-120 kts the thing wouldn't move...so ended up doing the starter assist checklist. (He told me in the post-briefing to not be scared of tapping the starter if need be, instead of pitching down to gain airspeed)
Then we did slow flight, steep turns, power off/power on stalls, VMC demo and then Engine Fire in flight emergency w/ steep descent, followed by two ugly approaches.

The approaches sucked dick 'cause I had no time to setup. By the time I was done w/ the VFR stuff, I was close to Lake Arcock, and then we headed south with the intentions of getting an ILS at the airbase. Unfortunately, some KC-135s were having fun today, and so we couldn't do the ILS there...well....here we are about 9nm from GFK, and my stage examiner decides to have me do a DME arc for the VOR 17 (thanks a lot! ) and here I am shuffling for the approach plate w/ approach giving me clearances, and me trying to turn back to get the 12DME, while doing my descent checklist and then giving an approach briefing....egh...sucked ass...but oh well...got that done, and came back for a single engine GPS 17, landed, short field takeoff, engine failure again on climb towards the pattern, normal landing, engine failure again on rollout, and then last one short field landing back to the ramp.

So....feels pretty good to be done....on to CFI w/ just a one and a half week break from flying egh....so much work....

Congrats Angel! Your stage guy does sound pretty cool. I have CAWR right now, my oral took 4.0hrs to get done with for 102 26. Intense!!! I messed up the flight though cause of extreme nervousness and lack of ! Did a bad soft field take off, he took over controls! I was like "Damn I failed!" He then handed me back the controls but I wasn't paying attention to radio calls after he took over control. Almost cut off a traffic on downwind while i tried to turn crosswind. Yeah that sealed it for me!

passed the "second half" of my 102 / 26 oral today.

tim klawon... still not sure what to make of him. made me feel very stupid. i didnt feel like there was much constructive that came from the oral, just rattle off **** like a machine, dont say a word more than neccessary, dont try to explain, just give answers. was very unpleasant.

im wondering how the flight will go tommorrow :-\

Angel: Congrats on your 103! And yeah, BWIL is one of the coolest, most fair stage check pilots I've ever had.

Jeremy: Good luck on your flight today, let us know how it goes.
