Tex,

You gotta remember, hockey is to ND and MN, what football is in TX. Personally I don't get the sport, I mean, you have a stick, use it!

??? I like soccer and all, but I wouldn't say it's less boring than hockey. Soccer might be exciting for a few minutes a match, but hockey be almost always got fast paced action.

yeah real fast except for every 25 seconds or so when they stop play and pick up the puck. :-\

soccer/futbol is elegantly simple as well.
-use your feet
-dont use your hands
-put ball in the goal.

Must be UND's style of play or something, because most games you only see a stoppage of play every 4-5 minutes or so.

90 minutes of hard battle, crazy aggressive audience aka hooligans, world sport, lots of running, sweating, weather, the stage is shaking, floodlights are blinding, people jumping, yelling till their voice goes out, and not just a small amount of fans, the whole stadium is a fanatic, even the stadium is not enough for the fans, the city is flooded with fanatics on TVs Radios, and finally when the game is a victory.

THE AFTERPARTY

cant say ive ever watched UND play.

also another bonus of soccer is you can be a PARTICIPANT very easily.

got a ball? got something to call a goal? a cone, a post, a tree, a doorway, a driveway..... bam, youve got a game to play! dont need any special equipment, expensive gear, etc etc...

i used to enjoy playing baseball but it still doesnt match the simplicity. need big teams, a lot of space, things to mark bases, etc etc etc....
