Default Alrighty....so who's up for summer?

I'm set on taking CFI and Crew Resource Mgmt this summer. 8 credits from 5/15 until 7/14. Apart from Tugrul and Antonio, who else is staying here this summer? It's gonna be one $%@$%*&@$#^@#$!$#%#$%$!#@$@$#^@^%&$%^%!#@%@%$^ summer. I can't believe I'm staying here for a third consecutive summer, but I'm shooting for a three year graduation next May of '07. I gotta get out of here!

I'll be here. Hopefully 323 and Systems. I never leave to go back home...except for the last 2 weeks in the summer.

The summers are actually nice here...weather-wise. The thunder/lightning storms and heat is pretty nice.

I hope you're right. I do get the impression this place would be OK in the summer though. I just hope it will be OK for 8 weeks. I know Im not ready for an entire summer session up here. Im not even sure Im ready for 8 weeks.

Why do people want to graduate college so fast? I could see wanting to get out of GF. I'm a thrid year college student and still don't have my AS. But working full time, funerals and being lazy are hard to find time.

You could be like me, where my Bachelor's degree will have been earned in about 8 years... I'll end up graduating at age 26...next year.

Why do people want to graduate so fast? You could just ask the question directed to me instead of generalizing saying "people".
You answered part of the question. I want to spend the least amount of time here in Grand Forks. The less the better. The second part to that question is that I wanna start working as an instructor soon so that I can advance in this career early on. To me, the earlier I start working the better. You might disagree with me in saying, "oh you just don't know what life is, you will be missing those college years, you're gonna hate working all the time....blah blah blah," like a lot of people say, but I wanna get started early. I still have another year of fun and that's good enough for me. We're all different, and we have different goals in life, so in this case it's not worth comparing opinions.

See, I used to think like that. I am VERY close to my friends back home. I wanted my summers to be free so I could go back home and hang out with all of them. I've realized this last year though, that times are going to change in the next year or two. Drastically most likely and I probably wont be hanging out with many of them for a pretty long time after graduation. At least until I get settled at my "final job". That and they're all gona be graduating like me and moving on as well. Thats probably a dumb reason to go to school in ND for 4 years instead of 3, but thats my main reason.

Another reason I need to get done, is my room mates are both juniors. Lucky for me, they both "messed up" a little and are pretty much in the same class as me. I want to graduate with them so that I dont have to find new room mates for my apartment, or move. My current plan is to try to get hired part-time here instructing and hopefully have enough hours to move on when I graduate. That idea is just on the back burner though. Im not fully relying on that happening. I really want to get some instructing experiance outside the UND bubble. Chicago would be pretty boss.

I will just be doing 221 for the first 6 weeks and heading back to NY after that. Just like Tom, I am mainly going back to NY early because of friends. I am doing a road trip down south to Alabama and Florida with the high school buddies. But maybe eventually I will have to stay the next couple of summers to finish up early.

I will be here for the first half, hopefully doing CFII
making the best out of this swamp
chasing storms
getting eaten by mosquitoes
tubing
bbqing till 3am
spinning music till sunrise
cycling
cycling to subway with Angel
Trying to make the best of this place with all the other poor fellows who stay
getting ready for some trips
camping
working on my car (if I have not junked it by then)
washing my car (counting how many more paint chips and dents I have if I am bored)
class
flying
boring
sleeping and then perhaps out in the grass watching the clouds brew up to storms again

Exactly how I feel, Once I graduate, hopefully after having completed an internship, I'm gonna take the first decent job to come my way. I just don't understand these instructors that stay 3 or 4 years just so they can get a top notch job. I think 1 year instructing and a crappy paying job at a regional for a few years is gonna look just as good or better on your resume. And I would rather be working for for a regional than working instructing, but thats me.

Getting hired was the best way to end winter for me! It was up around 80 degrees in Charlotte today... Just enough time to check email and drop in.. (read dash 8 limitations test tomorrow! ) I'll probably check back in after training in a month or so and update yall on how training and Piedmont is going. so far so good! (Now that I'm in NC I can say yall, right? )
