Maybe Amtrak to MSP and get a cheaper flight out there! But from the east coast or west with Amtrak, god that must be painful.

I never took Amtrak, but I think the ride from GFK down to MSP is like 6 hrs., plus I heard the train is always delayed.

Amtrak from SoCal? Ummmm, I'm gonna go with NO.

It'd be cheaper and less of a hassle if you just flew.

I've never ridin on a train long distance. Just commuter trains in big cities. From what I hear though, you might as well just throw your itinerary away and expect to arrive at some other time.

I think a train would be fun if I didnt have a set schedule or anything.

Trains are such an obsolete form of transportation that they should only be used if you have ride the Euro Pass train in Europe...to view the nice countryside.

Other than that, you'd probably get there faster if you hiked. The stupid train from Grand Forks to Minneapolis take 8 hours - a driving time of only 3.5 to 4 hours (depending if you know how to correctly rely on your radar detector or not). Plus it's $70 round trip. You'd spend less in gas.
